White-Tipped Indian Blanket
The Gaillardia pulchella, commonly known as the Indian Blanket or Firewheel. A Native plant of Texas, found along roadsides and pastures in many parts of the state. This blossom, growing along FM 1824 in Callahan County near Scranton, varies slightly from the more common color of deep yellow on all of the petal tips. The showy Indian Blanket is one of my favorite plants to photograph. Shot with an Olympus OM-D E-M5 m43 camera and Olympus M.Zuiko 60mm f2.8 macro. Raw conversion in DxO Optics Pro 9 via Lightroom 5.3. Post processing in Topaz photoFXlab, Topaz Adjust, Topaz Detail and PhotoLine 18.
